I am absolutely thrilled to announce that I will be racing with my Dad in the Classic Sports Car Club Tin Tops series. That’s right, he’s back out of retirement for the second time and will get behind the wheel of the Pug with myself on 5 weekends in 2019. The Tin Tops series format is a single 40 minute race with mandatory pit stop. One driver starts the race, the other will finish.
This is a dream come true and something I thought wouldn’t be possible after he last hung up his gloves in 2015. My car racing journey didn’t start until 2018 so I thought I’d missed the boat! I think it goes to show: a racing driver never actually retires, they just race less than others.
